The ALF Dental Expander is a less commonly used but increasingly popular type of orthodontic appliance that aims for more "natural" palatal expansion. Unlike traditional expanders that are bonded to the teeth, the ALF expander is a light, flexible wire appliance that engages the inside of the dental arch.
